New Call for the Universal Civil Service published

On February 24, 2026, the new Universal Civil Service Call for Applications was published for the selection of 65,964 volunteer operators to be employed in projects under the Universal Civil Service programs to be carried out in Italy and abroad.
The Universal Civil Service (SCU) in Italy is aimed at young people aged 18 to 28 (specifically, until the day before their 29th birthday).
Among the projects of the University of Palermo:
UNIPA IN MOSTRA – PTXSU0039925011027NMTX (only in Italian)
will offer three young people the opportunity to serve at the INAF Palermo Astronomical Observatory and the Museum of the Specola.
To participate, applicants must hold a secondary school diploma (high school) that grants access to university.
The specific objectives of the project include:
- Protection and enhancement of cultural and scientific heritage.
- Making the heritage accessible to the public, turning visits into learning experiences.
- Promoting the identity, value, and offerings of the Observatory and Museum externally, increasing their visibility and appeal.
The service will be carried out 25 hours per week, structured over 5 days a week at 5 hours per day.
Volunteers will receive a monthly allowance of €519.47.
