Zagara di primavera 2026, The 30th edition from 22 to 24 May: the exhibition-market for lovers of plants, flowers and gardening

A light breeze spreads the scent of orange blossom along the avenues of the Botanical Garden of Palermo, announcing the return of the exhibition-market dedicated to floriculture and gardening. From 22 to 24 May 2026, the Botanical Gardens are preparing to celebrate their 30th edition.

Promoted, conceived and organised by the Botanical Gardens of the University Museum System (Unipa Heritage), the event will host over 60 exhibitors, nurserymen and artisans from all over Italy, allowing you to discover the latest in floriculture.

The event is a must for gardening enthusiasts, offering a unique opportunity to discover and purchase rare botanical collections, plants, flowers, fruits and high-quality artisan products.

The main objective is to educate the public about the importance of biodiversity, green care and sustainable practices. The event is not just an exhibition-market, but a real reference point for botanical dissemination, where enthusiasts, experts and nurserymen can meet to exchange knowledge and grow a community united by a passion for plants and nature.

Preparations are underway for a programme packed with events that promises to thrill all participants, from expert collectors to families. Not only will visitors be immersed in rare flowers and plants, but they will also have the opportunity to exchange ideas, learn cultivation techniques and take part in tours and in-depth discussions. The programme is still being finalised, but the following events are planned:

• Presentations of books on botanical themes.
• Talks and meetings with experts in the field to explore techniques and curiosities about the world of gardening.
• Guided tours by the Director of the Botanical Garden to reveal the secrets and history of this fascinating treasure trove of beauty and biodiversity.
• Workshops and educational activities specifically designed for children, with treasure hunts and creative activities.
• It will also be possible to explore the new Sala Tineo, a recently inaugurated multimedia space that houses the permanent installation “Il pianeta delle piante” (The Planet of Plants), an immersive experience that combines technology and botany.

The exhibition-market boasts the presence of well-known names and new discoveries for enthusiasts. Participants will find specialist nurseries that have selected the best plants from their collections, ready to entrust them to the “loving care” of anyone who wants to welcome them into their garden or balcony.

Zagara di Primavera is an event celebrating beauty in all its forms, an opportunity to spend three days in harmony with nature in this welcoming and extraordinary oasis of relaxation. An event that combines passion, botanical culture and conviviality, which over the years has become a pleasant and unmissable tradition for the city.
